Communications & Campaigns Intern
Corporate Action Network has a new opening for a campaign intern. This individual will assist in the development and implementation of a variety of campaigns targeting the perpetrators of corporate abuse.
The ideal candidate should be able to commit 15-20 hrs/week and work primarily from our office at 1900 L St NW, Washington, DC.
SAMPLE DUTIES:
- Help pitch stories to local and national press and track media hits.
- Perform research and help draft reports on campaign issues and corporate targets.
- Draft and design content for campaign websites.
- Assist with press releases, media alerts, and other communications.
- Help develop organizational outreach strategy and newsletter.
- Help manage social media assets, including Facebook and Twitter.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
- Passion for holding abusive corporations accountable to their consumers, investors, the environment, and the communities in which they operate.
- Excellent research and writing skills. Ability to tailor writing for a wide variety of audiences and mediums.
- Familiarity with effective social media and web technology trends, tools, and techniques. Ongoing interest and engagement with evolving technologies.
- Self-motivated and action-oriented worker.
- Campaign communications experience desired but not required.
- Ability to adapt to shifting campaign and organizational priorities.
COMPENSATION
- This is a paid internship. Interns will be paid $10.10/hr.
